We are currently looking for a EHS SafetyEngineer (Environmental, Health & Safety), based in Agrate Brianza (MB) office.
General Requirements
The EHS Safety Engineer will support the Applied Materials teams based in Italy and will manage the Health & Safety Protection Service primarily for the Agrate manufacturing site, but also for Catania, while participating in international projects within the global team.
The role will ensure the development and implementation of HSE programs aimed at assessing and minimizing risks for Applied Materials' employees, the environment, and the community.
Key EHS programs include:
- Respiratory Protection Program
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Chemical Authorization Program
- Management of Change (MoC)
- Fall Protection
- Hazardous Materials Management Program
- Job Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
- Project Work Plans / Pre‑Task Plans
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with required HSE codes, standards, and regulations, as well as governmental health and safety regulations. Act as a liaison with local, regional, or national regulatory authorities.
- Ensure proper investigation of environmental and safety incidents and lead corrective actions to closure. Experience with root cause analysis methods is preferred.
- Serve as a professional advisor to Country Management regarding existing or potential safety issues.
- Develop Prevention and Protection strategies and guide team members in preparing action plans to continuously improve performance and customer satisfaction.
- Review and report progress and safety performance for the assigned site/function according to EH&S metrics established by Management.
- Ensure that assigned projects are completed as planned in order to meet EH&S objectives. Provide Management with updates and escalation on projects/programs while maintaining communication with site functions.
- Monitor evolving EHS legislation and take appropriate actions to ensure compliance. Communicate EH&S matters to all necessary managers and employees.
- Stay informed about advances in safety and environmental technology and ensure that applicable improvements are incorporated within Applied Materials.
The position reports to the EMEA EHS Manager and will work closely with site management and the customer to drive EHS programs and ensure compliance
