Working student: Modelling and control design of an evaporation system
At Applied Materials in Alzenau, around 200 creative minds are working in an interdisciplinary manner on display technologies of the future. Using the latest methods, tools and innovative technologies, we develop competitive solutions for the display industry.
What you do with us
As part of a development project, a concept for a model-based controlled physical process is to be developed. The basis for the control is a non-linear MPC with open source frameworks like CasADi.
Identification and modelling of the relevant machine components and systems
Measurement of the system for parameter identification
Research and development of a suitable control concept
Model-based control design and realization in code
Experimental validation on the test system
What you bring with you
You are studying engineering, automation technology or similar
Knowledge of programming in preferably Python or MATLAB/Simulink
Ideally experience in physical modelling
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics is a plus
Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
Confident written and spoken English skills
What you can expect
