Job Description
The Industrial IT/OT Engineer is responsible for bridging the gap between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) in industrial environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable systems that integrate industrial automation equipment with enterprise IT infrastructure. The engineer ensures seamless data flow between shop-floor systems and business applications to support smart manufacturing and digital transformation initiatives.
Skills:
10+ Years’ of hands on experience as Industrial automation engineer in Manufacturing and logistics domain.
Demonstrated experience to identify cost-reduction or process-improvement opportunities
Ability to evaluate the use of inventory tracking technology, warehouse management systems or intelligent conveyor systems to maximize efficiency
Experience in integration of automation tools with enterprise level ERP as well as 3rd party s/w applications.
Self-motivated to learn new technologies and stay informed with current trends in logistics optimization.
Project management skills and experience in managing small to large scale projects.
Proficiency with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMI, and MES platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric).
Knowledge of servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage systems, and cloud platforms.
Understanding of industrial Ethernet, VLANs, firewalls, routing, and switching.
Experience with protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and integration of OT systems with ERP or cloud platforms.
Familiarity with Unix, Redhat and Windows OS systems
Familiarity with IIoT Platforms such as AWS, Ignition
Skills in data acquisition, historian systems and analytics platforms.
Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and system management.
Responsibility:
Design and support IT/OT network architecture, including industrial Ethernet, firewalls, and segmentation.
Integrate PLCs, SCADA, MES, and other automation systems with enterprise IT platforms.
Implement cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems (ICS).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across IT and OT environments.
Lead teams and cross function resources on global automation deployments
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Education/Certifications Desired:
Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or CS

$148,000.00 - $203,500.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
