Consistently ranked among Computerworld’s 100 Best Places to Work in IT, Applied Material’s Global Information Services (GIS) organization offers an exciting place for its employees to succeed.  We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Applied Materials data ecosystems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and hands-on experience working with complex datasets, manufacturing systems, PLM systems, enterprise applications like SAP, and cloud data platforms. This role is responsible for transforming data into insights that drive operational efficiency, quality improvement, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex datasets from multiple sources (e.g., SAP, PLM, Manufacturing systems, ERP, CRM, data lakes, Databricks) to identify trends, opportunities, and anomalies across Applied Materials data systems.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports to support business units with actionable intelligence.

  • Work closely with Data Architects, Engineers, and Governance teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with data standards.

  • Translate business needs into analytics requirements and deliver data solutions aligned with organizational goals.

  • Support advanced analytics initiatives such as yield analysis, root cause detection, and predictive maintenance using statistical and machine learning techniques.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop data solutions

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance policies, including metadata management, data stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

  • 5–8 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor systems and data types (e.g., yield, test data, machine logs).

  • Must be Proficient in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Hands-on experience with SAP (e.g., SAP ECC, MDG, BW) and RDBMS systems (Oracle, Postgres, SQL server etc.)

  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery.

  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data governance, and data quality frameworks.

  • Experience working in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Tableau and Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – Reporting or Analytics

  • Certified in Data Management or Data Governance (e.g., CDMP from DAMA), Cloud, AI/ML

U.S. Salary Range:

$122,000.00 - $168,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
