Key Responsibilities
Product Structure Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities
The Product Structure Engineer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and governing Master Bills of Materials (BOMs) and overall product structures across engineering and manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and manage Master BOMs / Product Structures, ensuring accuracy and alignment across Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning) to implement and control changes to Master BOMs.
- Possess a strong understanding of Engineering BOM (EBOM), Manufacturing BOM (MBOM), and Master BOM concepts, including their relationships and downstream impact.
- Manage and support the Engineering Change process, including assessment, implementation, and evaluation of change impacts on Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
- Generate and maintain Assembly BOMs in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of MRP, Work Orders / Job Orders, and assembly shop floor planning processes.
- Review, maintain, control, and release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain Master Engineering Documentation, including engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and related documents supporting product development and production.
- Review, control, and release Engineering Procurement (eCart) requests, including prototype‑level documentation such as drawings, marked‑up drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
- Test and validate new or enhanced functionality within PDM, ERP, and other Engineering systems to ensure no disruption to day‑to‑day Engineering and Configuration Management activities.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards, change control procedures, and data integrity requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with a proactive learning attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Teamcenter (TcE) and UG NX will be an added advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of experience in a Production Planning, Manufacturing, or Engineering environment, with exposure to BOM management and ERP systems.
