As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical or electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and drawings to advance the equipment that supports our technology. Using your technical experience and critical thinking skills, you will perform engineering analysis, generate test reports, develop innovative solutions, and create documentation for product releases. You will also coordinate the procurement and assembly of components, identify sources of critical parts, and resolve technical issues to ensure peak performance.

Applied Materials is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ion Implanter systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical aptitude, strong adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume fab setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Ion Implanter tools to support semiconductor wafer processing in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM), equipment setup, and basic troubleshooting
  • Monitor tool performance, identify abnormalities, and escalate issues as required
  • Execute chamber cleans, parts replacement, and consumables management
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, observations, and tool status in tracking systems
  • Follow all ESD, cleanroom, and safety protocols, including chemical and high-voltage safety
  • Support engineers during tool recovery, qualification, and improvement activities
  • Participate in shift handovers and maintain clear communication across teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to tool uptime and yield

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Information Technology
  • 15+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or a related technical role
  • Basic understanding of vacuum systems, power supplies, robotics, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Excellent knowledge on cleanroom environments
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Ion Implanter tools
  • Familiarity with semiconductor fab processes and equipment reliability concepts
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools
  • Awareness of SPC, TPM, or lean manufacturing concepts
