Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing and sourcing activities in collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to maintain inventory at optimal planned levels.
- Drive resolution of material-related issues, including accounting discrepancies and receiving challenges.
- Manage complex supplier relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives, including supply chains involving multiple sub-tier suppliers.
- Lead and manage complex sourcing transitions, including new product introductions, supplier onboarding, part changes, and obsolescence management.
- Negotiate costs and sourcing strategies, including MCOS reduction, liability exposure, and expenses related to expedites and rework.
- Drive lead-time (LT) reduction initiatives and partner with E&Z focal teams to ensure effective inventory control and sourcing efficiency.
- Define, standardize, and continuously improve business and sourcing processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Commodity Business Management, Demand Management, and Sourcing teams.
- Develop and implement procurement and strategic sourcing process simplification initiatives.
- Lead and manage purchasing and sourcing-related projects, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and scope commitments.
- Provide training, guidance, and audits for junior team members.
Additional Responsibilities
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and sourcing agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Source and procure materials, components, equipment, and services at the most cost-effective rate while ensuring quality, reliability, and timeliness.
- Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and onboarding through structured strategic sourcing processes.
- Expedite orders and ensure on-time delivery of materials to support production requirements.
- Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain Management to identify, evaluate, and source new suppliers.
- Manage end-to-end RFQ and sourcing processes, including issuing requests, analyzing proposals, negotiating terms, and executing purchase orders.
- Monitor order progress, verify deliveries, approve payments, and maintain accurate procurement and sourcing records.
- Ensure compliance with standard purchasing and sourcing processes and organizational policies.
- Review part specifications and engineering drawings to support sourcing and procurement decisions.
- Apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to effectively communicate with engineering teams and suppliers.
- Provide actionable feedback to Engineering teams to support cost reduction and sourcing optimization initiatives.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronics) relevant experience into sourcing, program management and supplier management.
- Must have Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics commodity experience
Job Specific skills/Knowledge (Mandatory)
- Exposure to global sourcing and supplier management.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods & commodities as related to product and cost structure.
- Ability to read and interpret BOM’s.
- Must be self-starter and be able to operate independent of day-to-day supervision.
- Excellent presentation skills.
Other Skills (Good to have)
- Knowledge of SAP MM Module.
- Have worked with cross functional team on HVM / Design change projects.
- Exposure to the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry is preferred
