Position Summary:
Applied Materials is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our Global Sourcing and Procurement team, supporting the Indirect Procurement function. This role will focus on business process modeling, documentation of current state processes, process redesign and streamlining, and driving automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of procurement systems and processes, such as Ariba and Fieldglass, and will play a key role in project management and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and document current procurement processes across indirect procurement.
• Design and implement streamlined processes to improve efficiency, automation and compliance.
• Develop and maintain process maps, workflows, and SOPs using BPM tools (e.g., Visio, Aris).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify pain points and improvement opportunities.
• Define and document business requirements and use cases with internal stakeholders.
• Understand and assess change impacts of to-be processes, relative to impact and ease of implementation
• Lead or support process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
• Deliver training, documentation and presentations in terms that are understandable to all parties.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in process engineering, procurement operations, or supply chain.
• Hands-on experience with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba and Fieldglass.
• Strong skills in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio).
• Proven project management experience; PMP certification is a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
