Applied Materials India SW RnD division (FIFA Genesis product) - responsible for Load/Unload wafers for all the next generation PDC products by ensuring the safety of wafers and maintaining TPT and accuracy.
The product combines both HW and SW technologies, while our division is focusing on the SW
We are looking for experienced Automation Team Leader engineer with passion to Automation, SW and semiconductor technology to lead FIFA SW Automation team!
Our Team
We are 80+ member team in SW organization and has more than 15 QA/AT engineers. We are responsible for quality and value for the SW versions released and to be released.
Roles and Responsibility
Lead Automation processes, such as automation coverage and debuggability, automation value, automation KPIs and methodology across the OPWI organization.
Develop automation strategy and scripts to support progression and regression testing based on the technical analysis, complexity, and reusability.
Design, implement, and improve Automation and product features quality standards and KPIs
Identify and promote long term Automation improvement opportunities for future roadmap.
Co-work with QA team, other SW scrum teams, Automation infra team and delivery pipeline team
Willingness to be take up both Manual Qual and AT based on teams need.
Conduct AT Coverage milestones monthly
Be part of and present status on quality and automation on Quarter Business Review
Design and code E2E tests for Simulations / Setups.
Recommend new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality.
Our Ideal Candidate
Overall 10+ yrs. of Exp
At least 5 years of experience as Automation engineer hands on.
At least 2-3 years of end to end Automation ownership
Strong leadership, team player, coaching and mentoring skills.
Strong knowledge of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes.
Good knowledge in OOPS programming concepts and experience in programming languages like Java, Python, C#.
Agile and DevOps methodologies, concepts, familiar with DevOps, Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
UI and/or API level test automation expertise.
Knowledge in performance testing and load testing.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Working with complex systems involving SW and HW – advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications:
Semiconductor Domain experience
Working knowledge of SW integrations and qualifications on Hardware products
Technologies we are using:
Programming Language: Java, Python, C++
Source Control: Git
Frameworks:
Playwright – UI automation framework.
TestNG – The “new” framework for automation tests. Tests are written in Java by automation engineers.
Selenium - Used to run automation on Web applications. In Applied we are not using pure Selenium, but wrapped layer of selenium that was written at Applied)
JSystem – Legacy (old framework), used to run automation on the Swing part of the application. Codeless automation tool when using existing BBs. New BBs need to be developed (in Java) by AT engineer.

Aportal – In-house tool we use to monitor automation runs results. Enables to open bugs, watch logs, follow up on test run history, open bugs summary, etc.
