As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype and develop moderately complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices

• Designs common software modules and libraries for use across multiple products

• Develop software documentation and test procedures

• Troubleshoot a variety of moderately difficult software problems; design and implement bug fixes

• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project schedule and software troubleshooting

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS Excel, SQL, ETL Packages, experience using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

• Experience working in Bigdata platforms, Hadoop / Databricks

• Analytical mindset, strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using version control systems, e.g. Git.

• Designs and deploys visualizations, such as reports and dashboards, using best practices for presentation, efficiency, and user friendliness.

• Designs and develops recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence solutions such as reports, cubes, and dashboards, using industry best practices for presentation, efficiency, and user friendliness. Designs reports to aid in the efficient assimilation of the data by users by engaging exception reporting
