Position Summary

The Trade Compliance Analyst will be responsible for executing and managing U.S. export compliance activities with a strong focus on ERP-driven controls and SAP GTS execution. This role ensures that export transactions comply with U.S. export regulations while enabling efficient business operations through accurate license mapping, system governance, and real-time reporting. The analyst will partner cross-functionally with IT, Data Science, and business stakeholders to continuously enhance trade compliance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

U.S. Export Compliance Execution

  • Manage day-to-day U.S. export compliance operations, ensuring adherence to EAR, and applicable U.S. export control regulations.
  • Oversee export transactions to ensure proper screening, licensing, and documentation prior to shipment.
  • Analyze export classifications, destination controls, end-use, and end-user requirements to determine licensing obligations.
  • Map export licenses and license exceptions to transactions within ERP systems.

SAP GTS Management

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP GTS export compliance functionality, including license determination and document management.
  • Maintain and update SAP GTS compliance policies, procedures, and control settings to reflect regulatory and business changes.
  • Monitor SAP GTS transactional accuracy, troubleshoot compliance blocks, and resolve system or data-related issues.
  • Partner with trade operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure timely release of compliant orders.

Reporting & Enablement

  • Collaborate with Data Science and analytics teams to develop and maintain real-time dashboards and reports for export order status, license utilization, and compliance KPIs.
  • Ensure data integrity and traceability within SAP GTS and connected systems to support audits and internal reporting.
  • Provide actionable compliance insights to business stakeholders to support operational decision-making.

Systems & IT Project Support

  • Participate in IT-led projects that enhance SAP GTS and other trade compliance systems, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Support system upgrades, integrations, testing (UAT), and deployments related to export compliance.
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and scale compliance operations.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, system evidence, and transactional support.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of global trade compliance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay current on U.S. export regulatory changes and assess system and process impacts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Logistics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, with a strong focus on U.S. export controls.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP GTS (export compliance modules required)
  • Strong understanding of export licenses, license exceptions, and ERP-based compliance execution.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT and analytics/data teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global or U.S.-based export operations from an offshore or shared services environment.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA integrations with SAP GTS.
  • Knowledge of compliance reporting, dashboards, or data visualization tools.
