As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Egineer) on site, you'll serve as Applied’s direct liaison with our customers and quickly solve high-value problems on their behalf. By collaborating closely with our customers onsite to install, maintain, and upgrade Applied Materials equipment, and with our internal teams to improve business processes, you’ll make a significant impact on ensuring peak performance and deliver exceptional service, while becoming an integral part of Applied Materials' dynamic field team.

We empower our Field Service Engineer (Customer Egineer) on site through comprehensive on-the-job training and the use of advanced digital tools and immersive technology, including Augmented Reality (AR) to support the systems and processes that underpin everyday semiconductor chip production.

As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

  • Lavorare in autonomia seguendo procedure tecniche e best practice aziendali.
  • Collaborare con Senior Field Service Engineers (Customer Engineers) nell’installazione, manutenzione e aggiornamento degli impianti e macchinari industriali Applied Materials installati presso l'azienda cliente a Catania.
  • Eseguire installazione e avviamento di apparecchiature industriali Applied.
  • Eseguire manutenzione preventiva e correttiva rispettando tempi, checklist e procedure previste.
  • Utilizzare strumenti di digital analytics per attività di diagnostica e troubleshooting.
  • Applicare tecniche diagnostiche di base per valutare lo stato delle apparecchiature e risolvere problematiche tecniche con il supporto di colleghi senior.
  • Comprendere e utilizzare correttamente schemi elettrici, meccanici, pneumatici, idraulici e di processo.
  • Eseguire aggiornamenti, modifiche e retrofit delle macchine installate.
  • Anticipare e gestire in modo tempestivo eventuali escalation tecniche.
  • Comunicare e coordinarsi direttamente con il cliente riguardo attività, priorità e performance degli impianti.
  • Partecipare a riunioni interne e con il cliente per la gestione del servizio.
  • Garantire elevati standard qualitativi e contribuire al raggiungimento degli obiettivi operativi.
  • Segnalare al team di gestione eventuali percezioni del cliente sulle performance del sistema.
  • Prendere iniziativa per prevenire o risolvere problemi tecnici e proporre miglioramenti.

Requisiti Richiesti

  • Diploma tecnico + biennio post‑diploma (Meccatronico) oppure Laurea Triennale in discipline ingegneristiche o certificazioni tecniche equivalenti.
  • Esperienza o forte propensione al problem solving e ottime capacità manuali.
  • Capacità di leggere e interpretare schemi elettrici e meccanici.
  • Esperienza nella diagnosi e risoluzione di problematiche tecniche di base.
  • Conoscenze meccaniche di base in uno o più dei seguenti ambiti: pneumatica, idraulica, elettronica, sistemi a vuoto, termodinamica.
  • Familiarità con utensili manuali e strumenti di misura (es. multimetro digitale).
  • Competenze comunicative efficaci, sia scritte che verbali.
  • Conoscenza base di Microsoft Excel, Word e PowerPoint.
  • Patente di guida valida; disponibilità ad ottenere passaporto se richiesto.
  • Capacità di lavorare nel rispetto dei requisiti di sicurezza e delle linee guida ambientali del sito.

Competenze Aggiuntive Valutate Positivamente

  • Esperienza pregressa nell’industria dei semiconduttori.
  • Esperienza su apparecchiature complesse e sistemi industriali ad alta tecnologia.
  • Capacità di interpretare dati di processo e software di diagnostica.
  • Conoscenza della lingua inglese almeno a livello intermedio, utile per seguire training tecnici, leggere procedure e comunicare con colleghi globali.
