What You’ll Do

Lead Innovation in Levitation and Drive Technology

Our subsidiary, Mecatronix GmbH, based in Darmstadt, is a team of 35 dedicated professionals developing cutting-edge, high-end drive systems using non-contact levitation technology. These systems, combined with our vacuum technologies, are already revolutionizing production in the semiconductor and display sectors.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled engineer to join our R&D team and help shape the future of levitation and drive technology. You’ll be working on the development of next-generation controllers, sensors, and power components.

Your Role as an Embedded Hardware R&D Engineer:

  • Innovate in Electronics Development: Define, design, implement, and test electronic circuits, systems, and assemblies for cutting-edge applications.
  • Design with Precision: Create schematics and PCB layouts for levitation controllers and sensor systems using modern design tools.
  • Integrate Real-Time Control: Set up and validate controller peripherals such as ADC, PWM, I2C, EtherCAT, and memory interfaces for deterministic real-time hardware.
  • Ensure Quality Through Testing: Derive and structure test requirements to validate performance and support high-quality electronic manufacturing.
  • Support Embedded Software: Collaborate on the programming, maintenance, and optimization of embedded software for safe and reliable system operation.
  • Drive Compliance: Assist in EMI, safety, and reliability testing to meet international standards.
  • Analyze and Improve: Perform failure analysis and support continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product Management: Translate customer and standardization requirements into technical solutions.
  • Document and Communicate: Contribute to product manuals and user guides, including interface descriptions for integration with higher-level control systems.

Your education and experience

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Computer Science, or a related field (PhD welcome)
  • Proven expertise in electronic printed-circuit-board design, including hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Eagle, Altium, OrCAD, or similar
  • Familiarity with electrical design software like E3S or EPLAN is a plus
  • Strong skills in debugging and optimizing both electronic hardware and embedded software
  • Proficiency in C/C++, with a solid understanding of assembly language considered an advantage
  • Experience with Python, scripting, and automation tools for workflow and system control
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in interdisciplinary environments
  • Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills to manage complex development tasks
