General Profile
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the Manufacturing Engineering Department in the daily production and engineering activities at the European Repair Center (ERC) of Applied Materials based in Fagarè - Bocca di Callalta in the municipality of San Biagio di Callalta (TV).
This internship provides an opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Working closely with experienced engineers and technicians, the intern will contribute to process improvement initiatives, production process support, and manufacturing documentation activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Technical Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Support Manufacturing Engineers improving the daily production processes.
- Assist in developing and updating manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support operational decisions.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Assist in new product introduction and process validation activities.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
- Support the evaluation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain engineering documentation and manufacturing records.
- Follow safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in progress or recently completed in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous academic project, or laboratory experience is a plus.
- Interest in manufacturing, operations, and continuous improvement.
- Proactive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
