Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall design and oversight of the IT security architecture
Focal for the entire IT security architecture and gathers the necessary key security stakeholders to contribute to the design of their corresponding security tools, functions, etc.
Plans and designs security solutions and capabilities that enable AMAT to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Defines and develops security requirements using risk assessments
Document and address cybersecurity architecture and systems security engineering requirements through the life cycle of the project
Identify security gaps in proposed architectures and designs and recommend changes or enhancements
Employ security configuration management processes
Ensure that acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with AMAT’s cybersecurity architecture guidelines
Determine the protection needs (i.e., security controls) for the information systems and networks and document appropriately
Ensure vulnerability testing on the completed infrastructure, including risk analyses and security assessments
Ensure security requirements for all IT assets including routers, firewalls, VPNs, IoT
Review and approve the installation of all firewalls, VPNs, routers, servers, or any other networking device
Prepare cost estimates for all cybersecurity measures and identify any potential integration issues
Test the organization’s final security structures to make sure they function as planned
Provide technical guidance and supervision for security teams
Designs action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, monitoring etc.
Responsible for ensuring technical architecture diagrams are developed of new lab environment to portray how networks are segmented, device types, and security protections
