As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As the Applied Materials unit based in Reggio Emilia (Italy), we are actively recruiting a highly motivated and energetic expert Software Developer to enforce our talented team. Our team is composed of brilliant engineers with many different specialties: coding, graphics, ui/ux design and machine learning.
What we do is developing a multiscale and multiphysics simulation solution for technology development virtualization called Ginestra.
Ginestra is a device-oriented software tool that incorporates relevant physics, critical to understanding and managing the complexity of materials-to-device co-optimization from materials discovery through device performance, reliability, and variability projection.
Your key responsibilities:
Starting from day one, you’ll be assigned to our R&D team. You’ll be responsible for implementing algorithms and building software solutions to simulate the next generation of device technologies. According to your experience, you will be given challenging and interesting tasks according to Agile methods (Scrum), and you’ll be asked to suggest solutions and improvements about the system architecture.
You’ll be involved in breakthrough activities that will shape future trends in emerging technologies, implementing them in our innovative product.
What we seek:
A graduate, preferably in Computer science, Engineering, or Physics (Ph.D. is a plus), professionally speaking and writing English.
A coding lover, who likes solving complex problems through software engineering, preferably related to the implementation of new Mathematical and numerical models.
An expert in implementing Desktop software with strong analytical skills.
Good understanding of device physics is a plus.
A lively and positive person, with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work with many people and different good professionals, and a leading vision.
