About Our department: Computing R&D

Applied Materials Israel is home to the Process Diagnostics and Control (PDC) business unit, based in Rehovot, where we develop, manufacture, and market complex multidisciplinary cutting-edge machine learning and computer vision-based metrology and inspection products that are essential for the semiconductor industry. Within this organization, the Computing R&D department leads the design, development, and integration of computing modules during the R&D phase. Our combined expertise in IT and development enables us to create robust, future‑focused solutions, playing a significant role in enabling next‑generation microchip production and empowering our customers to turn possibilities into reality.

What you'll be doing:

Stretching the limits of our computing solutions. In your role, you will own the end-to-end qualification process - building your test plans, hands-on test execution, validating that the system meets the requirements and making sure that our systems are robust and ready for high volume manufacturing.

As part of your role, you will mainly perform:

  • Integration, validation and infrastructure performance testing for computing, storage and networking Systems - on lab level and with the actual relevant tool.

  • Testing field upgrade installers and HW.

  • Stress tests for computing modules.

  • Documents and procedures approval.

What should you bring?

  • B.A. / B.Sc. in relevant engineering fields – i.e. software engineering, computer science or equivalent - Mandatory.

  • A computing related certification - MCSE/MCSA/CCNA/Linux Administration - Mandatory.

  • Hands-on work experience of at least 3 years in the field of computing / system administration / computing infrastructure - Mandatory, preferably knowledge in system administration of both Windows and Linux based systems.

  • Experience as a manager / team leader - big advantage

  • A team player with a Can-do approach as way of leaving.

  • High self-learning ability.

  • Good presentation skills and the ability to transfer technical data in clear way.

  • High level of English - verbal and written.

  • Ability to lead complex multidisciplinary activities.

Having experience with any of the following is a bonus:

  • Testing utilities - BurnIn, MemTest, iPerf etc

  • Network troubleshooting utilities - i.e. Wireshark

  • Virtualization systems - Hyper-V /ProxMox

  • Knowledge in PowerShell and automation scripts
