Applied Materials’ Office of the CTO is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2026! The position will entail the following:

• Perform processing of device substrates, with particular focus on mass transfer of micron-scale devices and fabrication of micronized components. Handling of wafers and materials/chemical processing are required.
• Conduct metrology of processed device substrates, document and interpret data, and present key findings in technical meetings
• Collaborate with key technologists to discuss and execute experiments

Requirements

• Student must be pursuing a Ph.D. degree program in Materials/Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.5 and above on a 4.0 scale
• Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred
• Quick learner and able to work independently

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
