Description

This role will be responsible for service Product Development (products to enhance tool productivity; Uptime, Production time, Matching between tools, improving on wafer performance) within Etch Service Business Unit (SBU) supporting Applied Materials' customer install base in the semi-conductor industry.  The role will engage cross-functionally to drive business success through service product development and continuous improvement to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive development of service Products for Etch chambers.  
  • Drive partner teams across the company to develop components of service products and be the Technical program manager that manages to stitch together the various components together to develop a high value service product.
  • Program management with the equipment business unit and cross functional teams ensuring product service readiness (e.g. Spares, training, Design for Install (DfI), Design for Service (DfS), Design for Automated Service (DfAS), Data insights)
  • Development of service product roadmaps by partnering with customers through their technology cycle creating and deploying solutions to their most important challenges.
  • Communicate program progress/execution to upper management & stakeholders throughout the Product development release cycle.
  • Systems engineering expertise to lead and/or develop and execute significantly complex projects having a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms and software design, which are leading edge of system functionality or technology, and spearhead development of new technologies as appropriate to develop advanced service products.
  • Discuss with the BU on parameters available from new tool components and drive alignment on key critical parameters for data management.  
  • Responsible for ensuring that service products are scalable in field.  Ensure that field is prepared to support the service product deployment by ensuring Training and other resources are provided for the field teams.
  • Ensure that any components developed as part of service product have a proper manufacturing path as well as repair path by working with Operations team within Applied Global Services.
  • Responsible for cost models with roadmaps to achieve CoO targets, including driving solution execution making sure products meet productivity requirements: CoO (Cost of Ownership), MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) , MTBC (Mean Time Between Clean) , etc.
  • Direct data analytics team and engineering to develop and validate AI-based predictive maintenance models and engineering solutions to improve benefits of service offering to customers
  • Lead concurrent service product development with good communication with BU during NPI stage, ensuring tool improvements for sustained customer engagement by having unified MRS (Market Requirements Specification), inclusion of DFi/DFs (Design for Install/Design for Service), data management
  • Partners with strategic sourcing/supply chain to ensure material readiness for their respective programs.

Desired Skills, Competencies, Experience & Education

  • Bachelor or master’s in science or Engineering
  • Semi equipment hardware development experience or Process Development experience is necessary.
  • 10 – 15 years of relevant experience
  • Plasma Etch, Materials, deposition, systems/equipment experience and domain expertise.
  • Semiconductor applications and services experience desired
  • New product introduction experience with a performance-based track record
  • Customer focused – Voice of Customer (VOC) domain expertise and strong customer acumen
  • Positive can-do hands-on entrepreneurial attitude that builds support for RD&E needs
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal presence that extend confidence and humility
  • Ability to effectively manage and deliver to multiple Key Performance Indices (KPIs)
  • Critical thinking and ability to influence and communicate effectively with multiple internal stakeholders (Engineering, Planners, Sales, finance, marketing, strategy, management)
  • Excellent personal time management and project management skills.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
