This position reports directly to the Portfolio Manager. In this role, the candidate will apply conceptual and practical financial expertise to establish and standardize business processes, address complex business problems, and drive investment decisions for profitable growth. As a key finance business partner, the candidate will own and be responsible for the managing the product portfolio for the MDP organizations. The candidate must be able to anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and actively influence management with critical analysis and sound business advice. This role collaborates with various cross-functional organizations globally and requires the ability to provide solutions to complex problems. Works independently to support a complex and growing business with a diverse set of new and existing products serving high share applications to commodity type applications.
Major Responsibilities
This is a dynamic role that will enable the candidate to lead the BUs financial investment portfolio analysis and resource management in partnership with the business. The position requires an individual who is eager to work with both BU executives and partner with Product Marketing, Program management, Product Engineering, and Operations to provide valued Finance Insight on the following:
- Interface with senior management to drive operating expense prioritization and management
- Lead and drive operating expense & capital budget planning process by engaging senior management in business, engineering and operations departments
- Drive program analyses and partner with operations & Center of Excellence spending analyst to drive actual spending to targeted levels
- Provide value-add info/insights in the quarterly update of R&D program business case models
- Ensure data accuracy and help management team develop and tell the story of the business unit using that information (forecasting/budgeting, financial close, balance sheet integrity)
- Partner cross-functionally to drive and maintain the quarterly update of each program business case NPV models (Forecasting: Revenue, COS, Opex, Cash flow). Independently present business case financials to Senior management
- Interface with Portfolio owner to prioritize projects, measure productivity, and optimize resources. Includes capital spending plan and tracking.
- Provide financial decision-support and ad hoc or scenario analysis
- Partner within Finance and BU to drive adoption of data tools eg. Anaplan, SAP BPC, Tableau, and Project Resource Management (PRM), to streamline R&D spend reporting and analysis.
- Partner with ACE near-shore finance organization to ensure portfolio requirements are captured appropriately for finance budgets and plans.
Qualifications & Preferences
- Executive level communications but also aptitude to drive detailed process and data analytics to support engineering program management.
- Very strong Excel skills, including advanced decision modeling techniques (simulation, tornado analysis, decision tree analysis, etc)
- Strong systems capabilities, preferably with Anaplan, SAP BPC, tableau and PRM
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills to engage with partners to understand key issues, develop recommendations and implement actions to improve the business results
- Experience in P&L reporting and analysis
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Other valued characteristics – Assertiveness, initiative, communication, curiosity about the business, team oriented, collaborative
- Experience in semiconductor equipment or other long-lead R&D enterprises a strong plus

$106,000.00 - $146,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
