Position Summary:

The Imaging and Process Control (IPC) Group at Applied Materials develops, manufactures and markets advanced inspection products powered by deep learning and computer vision. We are incubating and commercializing new programs in Santa Clara to support the CEO’s strategic vision of elevating Applied Materials' position in the semiconductor value chain.

We are seeking a dynamic and analytically driven Finance Senior Manager to join the IPC Finance team. This individual will serve as a finance partner to IPC executive leadership and program teams, and work closely with the BU CFO to support strategic initiatives, FP&A activities, portfolio prioritization, complex financial modeling, and process innovation to enable new business models. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Santa Clara, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as day-to-day finance partner to IPC leadership, supporting all financial matters in alignment with BU CFO direction
  • Drive finance operating rhythm and lead FP&A activities including forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis across multiple programs
  • Develop and deliver insightful financial models, ROI analyses, scenario planning, and portfolio prioritization
  • Manage OpEx and CapEx planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Collaborate and coordinate with extended finance team members including Opex COE, Segment FP&A, ORCA, regional finance, corporate finance, and others
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects with notable risk and complexity, contributing to execution strategy
  • Contribute to performance metrics, continuous improvement projects, and cost efficiency initiatives; support Global Finance priorities
  • Support implementation and management of systems and processes for transaction support, cost tracking, and accurate accounting
  • Champion the adoption and effective use of financial tools (Anaplan, SAP BPC, Tableau, PRM) for R&D spend analysis and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and enforce finance policies and controls
  • Mentor and support extended BU finance team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence

Key Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and business partnership
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and visualization skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and startup-like environment
  • Experience in manufacturing or operational finance roles is a strong plus
  • Proactive, curious, and passionate about learning and growth
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Anaplan, SAP BPC, Tableau, and PRM
  • 8–15 years of relevant experience

U.S. Salary Range:

$154,000.00 - $212,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
