General Profile

Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in Costing and Pricing Systems, including CPQ platforms (SAP CPQ, Pricefx) and Pricing/Costing processes across Quote-to-Cash (Q2C). Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices in Pricing, Costing, and Quote Management, including optimization of pricing models, discounting structures, and cost-to-serve analysis. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions in pricing architecture and Q2C workflows. Works independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations. Lead functional teams or projects.

Key Responsibilities

Sales, Pricing & Solution Design

  • Partner with business stakeholders to design scalable Costing and Pricing solutions addressing complex cross-functional needs across CPQ, Pricefx, Sales, and Finance.
  • Define and promote best-known methods (BKMs) for integrated pricing models, configuration logic, and margin analysis.
  • Stay current with market-leading pricing and CPQ technologies, collaborating with multiple vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and optimized pricing capabilities.

Application Configuration & Development

  • Configure and/or develop solutions across Pricefx, SAP CPQ, and related pricing tools, including logic definitions, price lists, optimization engines, and costing structures.
  • Perform unit, integration, performance, and acceptance testing.
  • Execute data conversions including price book migration, cost table mapping, and pricing rules.
  • Supervise contract developers and ensure quality assurance across Pricing, Costing, and CPQ modules.

System Monitoring & Upgrades

  • Monitor CPQ and Pricefx systems for availability, performance, and pricing calculation accuracy.
  • Report anomalies; participate in patch evaluations, point releases, and major upgrades across pricing platforms.
  • Recommend system enhancements to improve pricing accuracy, margin transparency, and Q2C efficiency.

Customer Support & Service Management

  • Provide or oversee support services for CPQ and Pricefx-based IT services and associated integrations.
  • Adhere to service management processes to meet SLAs and maintain business satisfaction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and recommend preventive actions across Pricing, Costing, and Quote Management functions.

Project Management

  • Lead and manage end-to-end projects involving Pricing and Costing transformation, CPQ deployments, Pricefx enhancements, and Q2C modernization initiatives.
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Ensure effective execution using structured methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and quality assurance.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment with business goals and pricing strategies.

Mentorship & Training

  • Mentor team members in CPQ, Pricefx, Pricing Logic, Cost Modeling, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Provide training on Pricing, Costing, and Sales Operations best practices.

Education & Experience

Master’s/Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field 10–15 Years of Relevant Experience

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates deep expertise in Pricing and Costing Platforms including Pricefx, SAP CPQ, and SAP Sales solutions (C4C, CRM), with strong understanding of pricing models, discounting structures, and margin optimization.

Business Expertise

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges across Pricing, Costing, Q2C, and Sales Processes, recommending best practices to improve financial accuracy, pricing efficiency, and operational performance.

Leadership

  • Lead functional teams or projects involving CPQ, Pricefx, or SAP pricing implementations with moderate resource requirements and complexity.

Problem Solving

  • Leads others to solve complex problems in Pricing strategy, margin analysis, CPQ optimization, and system integration across pricing ecosystems.

Impact

  • Impacts the achievement of revenue, margin, and operational objectives through pricing-driven business transformation and improved quoting accuracy.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Communicates complex Pricing, Costing, and CPQ concepts effectively and negotiates with stakeholders to drive adoption of innovative pricing solutions.

Location- Onsite role, candidate must be present in Santa Clara and needs to come to work.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
