Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Paralegal V – Commercial Contracts to support high‑volume and high‑complexity commercial contracting across the company. This is a senior, expert‑level individual contributor role requiring independent judgment, deep commercial contracts experience, and the ability to drive scalable legal processes in a global, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently draft and negotiate template-based commercial agreements, including customer contracts for sale of Applied equipment and services, supplier contracts,   NDAs, SOWs, and amendments.
  • Identify contractual risks, deviations from standard terms, and escalation issues; clearly summarize findings for attorney review.
  • Own end‑to‑end contract lifecycle activities, including intake, execution workflows, and post‑execution management.
  • Serve as a Legal point of contact for designated business teams.
  • Lead or support commercial contracting programs and process improvements, including template updates and workflow optimization.
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, job aids, and training materials related to commercial contracts.
  • Interface directly with internal stakeholders and coordinate with outside counsel and vendors as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training strongly preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressively responsible paralegal experience supporting commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex, non‑routine agreements.
  • Strong drafting, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in a global, fast‑paced corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting technology, manufacturing, or semiconductor businesses.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and e‑signature tools.
  • Experience working with sales, supply chain, and/or procurement organizations.
  • Exposure to regulated commercial environments or export‑controlled businesses.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
