Applied Materials’CTO groupis searching for aquantum technology engineerintern to join our team!AtApplied’sCTO group, we focus on solid-state solutions for quantum technology,i.e.superconductingqubitsand optical quantum computing. Our primaryobjectiveis to collaborate with system companies and universities to develop quantum devices with significantly lower error rates compared to current standards. Our approach centers on harnessingstate of the artmaterials engineering and semiconductor processing, as well as ourexpertisein advanced optics and other relevant areas to enhance device performance. To achieve this goal,we'reseeking individuals with a strong background in quantum technology to join our expanding team.The position will entail the following:
Work withprocess,hardware, integration, and metrology team todesign anddevelop new quantumcomputingdevices.
Design and conduct experiments,collectand analysis characterization data.
Explore new growth area leveragingApplied’sexpertisein precision material engineering.
Requirements
Student must be pursuing aPhD’sdegree program inPhysics, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering,or a related field
Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Knowledge and research experience in solid-state qubits technology
Experience in semiconductor processingand quantum device modelingpreferred

YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
