The AGS Service Business Unit (SBU) organization is where Applied Materials turns product innovation into customer value. SBUs partner closely with Product Business Units, Engineering, and the Field to develop and deploy service solutions that improve tool productivity, reduce cost of ownership, and accelerate customers from R&D to high‑volume manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Strategic Program Manager (SPM) in the Service Business Unit (SBU) organization is a critical execution and integration role responsible for translating AGS and SBU strategy into scalable, measurable outcomes. The role operates horizontally across SBUs, Business Units, Field (FSO), SPO, Finance, IT, and Engineering, ensuring that complex, cross‑functional initiatives are executed with discipline, transparency, and value realization.

  • Translate SBU and AGS strategy into executable programs, ensuring alignment from intent to delivery
  • Own end to end execution of cross functional strategic initiatives spanning SBUs, BUs, Field, SPO, Finance, IT, and Engineering
  • Establish and maintain program governance, including scope alignment, milestones, dependencies, risks, and decision cadence
  • Drive portfolio level visibility and prioritization across multiple strategic programs and initiatives
  • Ensure value realization and impact tracking tied to productivity, cost of ownership reduction, service growth enablement, or execution maturity
  • Act as the integration point across organizations, resolving execution gaps that span functional or organizational boundaries
  • Provide clear, executive level communication on program status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions required
  • Enable execution at scale by standardizing program management practices, tools, and operating models across the SBU organization
  • Support change management and adoption, ensuring strategic initiatives move successfully from pilot to sustained operation

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

  • Master's Degree in:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Business Administration (Strategy / Operations focus)
    • Operations Management
    • Business Operations / Management Science
    • Data Analytics
    • or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
  • Specific experience that would be a plus:
    • Marketing
    • Communications

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
