A Regional Planner is responsible to plan, forecast, analyze, and evaluate service parts requirements to support performance in the right location, in correct quantities, on time. You'll be part of a team delivering excellence in parts planning, coupled with projects in innovation to continuously improve the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Planning and Development: The Regional Planner is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that align with the organization's goals. This includes creating new processes, tools, data visualization and systems to be used by the planning and operations community
  • Demand Planning Manage the demand forecast with field service teams. Act as the planning focal with field service and customer stakeholders. Represent planning in a professional manner.
  • Inventory Control & Optimization: Proactively manage inventory performance, including turns, excess, and obsolescence, to balance service levels and cost efficiency. Apply structured inventory optimization principles to support both contractual KPIs and long‑term sustainability.
  • Project Management: Managing funded projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, and providing technical assistance to member governments
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with senior managers, technical SMEs, and other departments such as FSO, sales, and logistics, the Senior Regional Planner ensures that planning activities are well-coordinated and aligned with business requirements
  • KPI Management and Improvement: Manage internal/external planning KPI and reporting. Monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of planning activities.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilizing system tools to provide sustainable solutions, translating business requirements into actionable plans, and conducting studies on various planning and public administration subjects. Leveraging AI‑enabled tools for demand sensing, scenario modeling, automation, and advanced analytics, with a strong focus on data quality, governance, and responsible AI usage.

This role requires a combination of analytical skills, communication skills, and leadership abilities to navigate the complexities of regional planning and ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Problem solver, critical thinker, detail oriented
  • Excellent Analytical skills. Capable of developing solutions and options based on data driven analysis. Familiar with data analytics software Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python.
  • Self-starter, high level of personal accountability, demonstrated project management skills and an innovative individual.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with team members and other internal stakeholders.
  • Semiconductor experience is preferred (particularly in Parts, Warranty, or Service).
  • Business acumen be able to understand Applied Materials key business drivers
  • Thorough functional and transactional knowledge of ERP or supply chain systems (eg. SAP)
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business/Operations, or Supply Chain from accredited university.
  • 2-4 years of inventory management, supply planning, material planning, or demand planning experience, including KPI definition, measurement and control.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
