Applied Materials South East Asiais a strategic hub for Applied Materials, consisting of diverse business activities across manufacturing, R&D, corporate functions and field services in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Singapore serves as the regional headquarters for Applied Materials. Since its establishment in 1991, the Applied Materials Singapore Operations Center has become our largest factory outside the United States. Singapore manufacturing accounts for around 50% of global semiconductor equipment output. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers of different seniorities and experience level.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

  • Interfaces with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.

  • Launches, releases, approves and implements or issues engineering change requests as required to support design engineering and Operations with new and existing products.

  • Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.

  • Spearheads research and development of new manufacturing technologies, as appropriate, and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services, and/or disseminated to other areas as needed.

  • Evaluates work methods, procedures and policies. Participates in the development and maintenance of new and existing business processes; updates as necessary to ensure current practices are documented.

  • Performs Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experiences managing a team of engineers

  • Problem-solving and quality-minded personality

  • Ability to work with deadlines and different levels of stakeholders

  • Ability to work with global stakeholders which may lead to having meetings at different time zones

  • Ability to travel for work at times in need
