Description

As the Logistics Operations Analyst, you will be a key business partner to the Logistics Organization and the Asia Logistics leadership team.  You will be presented with and challenged to seek out cross functional inefficiencies.  You will analyze data to gain a deep understanding of problems, as well as make recommendations to the leadership team based on your findings. You will come to this role with a deep understanding of data analysis, strategic analysis, project management, and natural curiosity. You will be a truly critical player in scaling Operation to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations/ Analysis

  • Monitor actual spending to commit and provide recommendations to management on risk & opportunity.
  • Analyze trends for key metrics to understand failures and make recommendation to management for improvement.

Metric

  • Generate and report internal metrics/KPIs. Monitor, analyze and make recommendation to management.
  • Support a metric driven meeting with our service suppliers for improvements. 

Reporting

  • Gather and published relevant reports to management for actions and/or informed decision making.
  • Ensure compliance and control to Quality standards.  Process and report weekly status of “in-house” process control reports, including in-transit, cycle count, inventory receiving and shipping reports.
  • Review inventory control reports for discrepancies and provide recommendations to management for corrective actions.
  • Gather data requirements for internal/external audit requests as needed.
  • Maintain logistic information databases and data accuracy in accordance with corporate policies.

Program/Project Management

  • Ensure adherence to established business processes.  Support development of new business processes. Develop and implement process improvement projects to increase service level performance and/or minimize costs.  Project scope is straight forward and has local impact.
  • Align with and leverage LSPs to plan and implement agreed programs, manage project timelines.  Be able to establish priorities, make business trade-offs, and sequence initiatives necessary to achieve long term process goals.  Ensure the integration of initiatives is completely consistent with the company's and BU functional strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create in collaboration with the process owners, business case documents supporting project initiatives including business cases, budget, financial variance, ROIs, project functional scopes and specifications.

Functional Knowledge

  • Transportation operation- inbound and outbound, transportation network , freight  capacity management, intermodal transportation,  logistics cost modeling/logistics sourcing, route code management, delivery improvement – on time delivery practices and KPI management, cost reduction  strategy– freight rate/should cost/target cost modeling .  
  • Supply chain management, manufacturing processes, business/finance, end to end supply chain acumen and project/program management.
  • Specific systems and business processes necessary to support a global logistics network including international and domestic Transportation (heavyweight air, ocean, parcel ground/air, and truckload), Warehousing, Crating and other related Logistics activities.
  • Knowledge of data structure, technology a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams, strong matrix management ability, relationship building ability, presentation skills, and influencing skills.
  • Requires strong project management and leadership skills as well as demonstrated expertise in problem solving, change management and time management.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, communication (both written & verbal), and organizational skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations quickly.
  • Proven financial and business acumen are paramount.
  • Experience using SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Having SAP skill will be an advantage.
  • You love to dissect complex problems and articulate your solutions through structured thinking, especially under pressure.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Supply Chain/Logistics.
  • Minimum 15 years in logistics/supply chain strategy and operations, analytics, progressive program management or supervisory experience in logistics, supply chain management or relevant technical/analytical discipline.
  • Strategic leadership experience within a global organization and has a comprehensive understanding of the domestic and international supply chain for transportation, warehousing, and crating/packaging operations.
  • Experience with, and market intelligence of, in-country, customer outbound, and supplier inbound networks will be a plus.
