Traineeship Project Description:

This project introduces the intern to how chemistry enables selective etching of semiconductor materials.

The intern will:

  • Learn how different chemical precursors and process conditions influence etch rate, selectivity, and material compatibility.
  • Assist in developing and improving thin‑film etch processes for metals, dielectrics, and multilayer stacks, and run guided experiments to study how chemicals and parameters affect etch behaviour.
  • Support data collection, documentation, troubleshooting of etch issues, and gain hands‑on experience operating tools in a cleanroom environment.

Desired Skills Required:

  • Basic knowledge of chemistry or materials science
  • Interest in semiconductor processing and cleanroom work
  • Willingness to handle chemicals and follow safety procedures
  • Good documentation and problem‑solving skills
