Sensor Engineer – Wafer Fab Equipment

About the Role

We are seeking a Sensor Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced sensing solutions for semiconductor Wafer Fab Equipment. This role bridges deep technical sensor expertise with customer-facing application support, requiring both hands-on lab work and strategic technical leadership. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex, high-value customer problems and driving new methodologies that improve system performance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of customer technologies and critical gaps, and drive solutions through the full work cycle to implementation
  • Technically lead complex application activities and cross-functional teams
  • Create and lead new methodologies to optimize system performance for specific applications
  • Design and test sensors for Wafer Fab Equipment in a lab environment, adhering to all safety guidelines
  • Analyze, develop, document, and transfer new application capabilities within the system envelope, from the product division to the customer application support team
  • Lead internal and external customer technical review meetings
  • Select appropriate sensor protocols and data integration methodologies to solve high-value customer problems
  • Leverage AI and machine learning tools to accelerate sensor development, data analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive insights for customer applications

Qualifications

  • MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering
  • 2–4 years of related experience in sensor design, integration, and testing
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing wire harnesses, engineering drawings, and design-for-manufacturing practices
  • Hands-on experience with data acquisition boards and communication protocols for data exchange over networks
  • Statistical analysis experience, including use of R, Python, or JMP
  • Exposure to Semiconductor Fab Equipment as a Systems or Equipment Engineer
  • Understanding of semiconductor fab equipment sensor operating environments (network, power feeding, information security)
  • In-depth knowledge of various industry-standard sensor protocols and network protocols
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and techniques (e.g., pattern recognition, predictive modeling) applied to sensor data and equipment diagnostics
