Summary

Applied Materials MAX OLED™ Solution maximizes OLED displays aperture ratio using a unique Maskless technology, leading to improved device lifetime, brightness and power savings. The Field Operations Design Lead will work with R&D, Engineering, and Field Service teams to develop efficient startup, service, logistics and fields operations to help customers achieve fast time to production and maintain high system uptime.

Key Responsibilities

Works cross-functionally with global teams to assess concept designs and customer requirements with Engineering and Field Support Teams to develop detailed design of service operations.

  • Evaluates equipment maintenance needs and creates sequence of operations, resources, tooling requirements, and cost models.
  • Considers MAX OLED Equipment and customer fab layout, ergonomics / human factors, tools, resources, and inventory and material flow
  • Performs Methods Engineering analysis including process design, time and motion study, and leads continual improvement initiatives related to equipment service
  • Drives and implements Ergonomic improvements  

Identifies constraints, capacity and cost issues and works with Service Operations and Engineering to implement solutions prior to customer production ramp.  

Partners with Field teams to plan and execute implementation at customer sites

Conducts lessons learned and leads initiatives to improve service processes.

Leads the effort to establish and document business processes across multiple functions.

Serves as a role model and sets the example, whose behavior is emulated by other engineering team members. (Safe behavior, follow proper protocols and procedures, including core values).

Other Requirements: This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.

Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with development and/or development of major complex capital equipment, industrial engineering, and factory planning and setup
  • Strong planning capability and leading cross-functional projects
  • Excellent English communications skills - able to work across regions
  • Data analysis and automation a plus

Education

  • Engineering or Technical Degree
  • 7-10+ years experience
  • Toeic 785

Travel

  • 10%, with higher travel during equipment site preparation, installation, and execution
