Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Product Quality & Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading company-wide initiative referred as "Local FA center" developing N+2 Failure Analysis Technologies. Reporting under Global Quality Headquarters, with a strong focus on semiconductor equipment and components failure analysis. This role partners closely with BU (ex. MDP, DDP, Etch, FEP, EPI and others) and central engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field organizations to understand customer need and develop Failure Analysis Metrology Recipes, drive continuous improvement or Beyond Spec Solutions, and ensure future robust product performance for major customers.

The position provides technical and people leadership, sets quality and reliability standards, and drives adoption of best practices to improve customer satisfaction, fleet performance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage product quality and reliability programs, including the definition, implementation, and governance of standards, methods, and processes.
  • Develop and deploy quality and reliability methodologies across engineering and manufacturing, ensuring alignment with business and customer requirements.
  • Analyze product, process, and field data to identify systemic issues, define improvement priorities, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with engineering teams on design-for-quality and design-for-reliability initiatives, including risk assessments, qualification strategies, and reliability modeling.
  • Provide technical leadership for high-impact quality or reliability escalations, ensuring structured root cause analysis and timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain quality and reliability training programs to ensure alignment with current technologies and business needs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality and reliability engineers; set goals, evaluate performance, and support career development.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to promote consistent quality practices and continuous improvement across regions and product lines.


Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Engineering with materials and metrology related research preferred.
  • PMP trained or certified preferred.
  • Hands on Metrology operating experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work with research organizations and universities to develop new FA capability.
  • 10+ years of experience in or product engineering within the semiconductor or high-tech equipment industry with critical understanding on how to enhance product Quality & Reliability.
  • Proven leadership experience managing mid to large scale projects and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong background in quality and reliability methodologies (e.g., FMEA, FRACAS, SPC, DOE, reliability testing, and root cause analysis).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical problem-solving efforts and influence stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and field organizations.
  • Fluent communication skills in English; ability to clearly present technical and business topics to diverse audiences.
